What to expect on your 1st visit

Patient Forms

Upon entering our office we will greet you and welcome you as a member of our family.  We will request you fill out our patient forms.  The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.

Consultation

Next you will have a consultation with Dr. Daniel Sjogren to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. Your first visit is designed for Dr. Dan to learn more about you, your condition and your expectations to determine whether chiropractic care will you meet your goals, concerns and needs.

Examination

After your consultation, Dr. Dan will perform a complete chiropractic examination including standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, muscle and physical examinations.

X-Ray Studies

Based on the findings of your consultation and examination, your specific condition may require us to obtain x-rays from an outside source. X-rays help rule out more serious conditions as well as enable us to view your spine from a mechanical stand point.  These X-rays are typically taken in a standing position and can help assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. Not everyone will be required to have X-rays and in certain situations (pregnant women and children) X-rays would not be warranted.   

Report of Findings 

 

Once all the information and examinations have been performed, Dr. Dan will give you a report of findings to answer the following questions:

1. Whats wrong?
2. Can Chiropractic help?
3. How long will it take?
4. How much is it going to cost?

Treatment

Once all the proper findings are gathered and the patient is informed of his/her options, treatments can begin.  The treatments may include spinal adjustments, modalities (ultrasound, ice, heat etc.) and soft tissue therapy (muscle stretching, trigger point therapy and muscle strengthening).  Since our mission at SCC is to listen to the individual's goals and then personalize the treatment, there can be a wide array of treatment options.
