About Kim:

Kim is a Registered Dietitian and Massachusetts Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist.  She is a member of the American and Massachusetts Dietetic Associations.

She completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Connecticut followed by a Master’s of Science in Human Nutrition at the University of Maine-Orono.  Her clinical internship training was at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. 

Kim began her career as an inpatient dietitian at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, CT and then Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA.  Her inpatient experience ranges from infants, children, and adolescents to adults with a wide array of nutritional and medical issues.  Presently, she is an outpatient pediatric nutritionist at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, MA where she provides nutritional counseling to families and children.   

Kim appreciates that food is a powerful entity and can be associated with many emotions. Kim helps her clients find a positive balance with food and learn to understand all of its roles and functions within the body.

 An important message she conveys to all her clients is that, “diet is a four-letter word.”  Diets are short term and have minimal long term success.  The achievement of weight goals is best accomplished through balance, moderation and understanding of foods as well as the movement of our bodies.  She believes it is imperative to work in collaboration with her clients because they are the best leaders on their own path to success.  A healthy eating plan and lifestyle can fit into any busy schedule!

Kim’s style is encouraging, non-judgmental, sensible and practical.

Personal Interests:

In her free time, Kim enjoys playing many sports including ice hockey, softball and volleyball.  Kim also enjoys hiking, running, biking and snowshoeing to appreciate the outdoors in all sorts of New England weather.  She can be found walking or jogging with her dog, Tuukka around town early most mornings.

Individual Initial Visit: $60 for 60 minutes

Includes, but is not limited to:

• Review of medical history
• Nutrition assessment
• Individualized goals
• Basic nutrition education

Follow-up Visit: $30 for 30 minutes

Includes review of goals and progress and ongoing nutrition education.

Family Nutrition Counseling:  $80* (60 minutes)

• Making changes within a home and family involves everyone! During family sessions, each family member can receive some individual attention for his or her own nutritional goals while incorporating the goals for the whole family.
• Family nutrition counseling works best when all members of the home can attend and usually require more than one visit.

                *For families with more than 6 members, there may be an additional fee

Group Counseling: 60-90 minutes
